On 26th July 2005, Mumbai and few parts of Maharashtra had hit by destructive flood. Team of dedicated doctors and volunteers initiated the health services and relief work for the flood affected people in Mumbai and Thane district. The work of doctors was appreciated by the distinguished and outstanding personalities of Thane district and Vidarbha.
Team of the doctors had also extended the health services in Washim district of Vidarbha in the same year.
After relief work, the volunteers along with doctors decided to continue the work in Thane and Washim district in organized way. Thus, Dr. Gajapal Ingole, B.A.M.S. MD registered Prasang Magasvagriya Samaj Kalyan Sanstha under the Public Trust Act 1950 and Society Registration Act 1860. Prasang is also registered under 12 AA and 80G section of Income Tax Act 1961, Government of India. .
Destructive Flood of 2005 has been a permanent memory for origin of Prasang Magasvagriya Samaj Kalyan Sanstha.
Prasang Magasvagriya Samaj Kalyan Sanstha, a registered, non-profit-non-governmental development organization has been working in Thane and Washim districts of Maharashtra State for transforming the lives of the urban and rural poor.
